Colorado Auto Transport by Rail ServicesColorado auto transport by rail services aren’t going to be all that easy to find. But it won’t be impossible, assuming there’s a company shipping cars through the region. That’s the hard part when it comes to shipping cars via the railroad – there just aren’t a lot of companies that actually do it anymore. Colorado, though, especially its biggest population centers, is known for bad winters. This can slow down standard over-the-road trucks and shutter routes especially through the mountain passes. Auto transport by rail, however, can overcome that, if it’s available. Read on to learn more about Colorado auto transport by rail services and what to expect.

Colorado Auto Transport by Rail Services

If you’re shipping to or from Colorado by rail, Denver is almost always going to be the go-to. Colorado is a big state, but much of its population is centered around Denver. Four of the top-five largest cities in the state are located in the Denver metropolitan area. Most all of the car shipping traffic, truck or rail or otherwise, goes into or out of the Denver area. So shipping a car to Colorado by rail is going to necessitate you picking up or dropping off somewhere near Denver.

This is good for some customers and not so good for others, but it is what it is. With the dearth of car shipping by rail services available in the U.S. as it stands now, chances are you won’t be able to find a company willing to simply ship one vehicle. If you’re shipping ten, or twenty, or more, then that’s a possibility. Bulk is best when it comes to auto transport by rail services. That being said, we do recommend you speak to an agent. They know more about conditions on the ground, which change on a pretty regular basis. Give us a call or get some quotes to get in touch with someone who can lay it out.

Popular Auto Transport Locations in Colorado

As we mentioned, Denver is going to be the go-to for Colorado auto transport by rail services. It’s not surprising. Its metro area is home to millions and it has the most interstate connections of any other city in the state. So if a rail company is going to stop in Colorado, it’ll be Denver.

Colorado Springs

We mentioned that four of the top-five cities in Colorado (by population) are in the Denver metro area. Colorado Springs is the only one of the five that isn’t, but it’s like an hour away from Denver so it’s not like it’s far away anyway. You may be able to find shipping to Colorado Springs, but you’ll need to speak to an agent as it may not be available.

The second-largest city in the Denver metro area, Aurora will be as easy to ship to or from as Denver. This is for both rail and over the road shipping. Really, when it comes to bedroom cities of a major city (like Aurora is to Denver), overland shipping is probably going to be easier to find. Plus, you won’t have to drive to Denver to pickup or deliver your vehicle at the terminal.

Fort Collins

Fort Collins falls into the same territory as Aurora. If you’re shipping to Fort Collins by rail, it’ll likely go into Denver (if it’s available). This means you’ll have to drive to Denver (not that it’s far) in order to pickup or deliver your vehicle. Speak to an agent to learn more about the differences between rail and truck transport and which would be best for you.
